Zahlreiche ehrenamtliche Mitglieder sorgen für einen ganzjährigen Betrieb des Slaughterhouses, das im Schwerpunkt am Freitag und Samstag ab 22.00 / 23.00 Uhr geöffnet ist. Zu unseren festen Party- und Konzertreihen zählen sind die „Factory“, „Angstpop“, „Satisfactory“ und die „Slaughterhouse Concerts“.

Dlina Volny is a trio originally from Minsk, Belarus, now based in Warsaw and London. The band melds Eastern European post-punk with Western darkwave, crafting a moody, introspective sound driven by haunting vocals that feels both nostalgically familiar and distinctly modern. “Dazed” LP was the first album they released on Italians Do It Better in 2021. It was mixed by Dean Hurley and mastered by Mike Bozzi. The band has established a strong presence in Europe, the UK, and Mexico, performing at festivals like ESNS, Kalabalik på Tyrolen, and Grauzone.
A luminary for all oddities of the night: Based in Berlin, Cult Noir combines cold, yet catchy dark wave synths with the hopelessly romantic side of post punk guitars. Started as a solo recording project with roots lying deeply in the goth & punk scene is now a two piece band ready to spread the darkness. Tragic songs for tragic people. In devotion to doom & gloom.
In a landmark year filled with several international tours, millions of music streams, plus a feature in the 2024’s revision of the cult classic film The Crow, Canadian cold wave duo TRAITRS demonstrated all throughout 2024 why they are one of the hardest working bands in the modern goth scene. With their nightmarish mosaic of icy guitars, melancholic synths, motorik drum machine rhythms, anthemic melodies woven together with horror-laced lyricism, TRAITRS captures the spirit of older bands like The Cure, Bauhaus and Cocteau Twins, while keeping their feet firmly planted in the present day.
In late 2015, Shawn Tucker (vocalist/guitarist) formed TRAITRS with writer/keyboardist Sean-Patrick Nolan in Toronto, Ontario as the two shared a fondness for punk, electronic music and art house horror films and spent endless months developing their angular cold wave sound before recording with acclaimed producer and multi-instrumentalist, Josh Korody at Candle Recording. In April 2016, TRAITRS released their debut cassette tape Rites and Ritual on Toronto’s hip boutique label Pleasence Records, which quickly garnered underground buzz in Germany, Peru, Brazil, Mexico and France.
That momentum carried the duo into 2018 when TRAITRS released their critically acclaimed second album Butcher’s Coin (Pleasence Records, Manic Depression Records, Alchera Visions). Based on the stratospheric success of lead single “Thin Flesh”, along with live favorites “The Lovely Wounded” and “The Suffering of Spiders“, Butcher’s Coin proved itself to be one of the seminal goth releases of the last decade. As of this writing, “Thin Flesh” has over 10 million streams on Spotify and in August 2024, the song featured in 2024’s version of the cult classic film The Crow starring Bill Skarsgård and FKA Twigs.
Since 2018, TRAITRS have performed in over 25 countries, including showcases at several international music festivals including Sanctuary, Levitation Fest, Wave Gothik Treffen, Amphi, Castle Party, Extramuralhas, Nocturnal Culture Night, W-Fest, Wavefest, Canadian Music Week and Pop! Montreal. In November 2021, TRAITRS released Horses in the Abattoir (Freakwave Records) which was Sonic Seducer’s Album of the Month and topped several “year end” lists not to mention was Number 1 for weeks on the DAC Charts in Germany. TRAITRS spent the better part of 2022 on tour in support of Horses in the Abattoir throughout Europe and North America before supporting She Past Away, Lebanon Hanover and She Wants Revenge all across North America to close out the year.
From February 23, 2023 in Copenhagen, DK until April 25 2024 in Santa Ana, California, TRAITRS supported electronic group VNV Nation on the “Electric Sun World Tour” performing in theatres all throughout Europe and North America. TRAITRS also supported new wave legends Chameleons on a German tour in 2023 and She Wants Revenge. Currently, the Canadian duo is halfway through their fall 2024 tour in North America and Europe. While the year wraps up, TRAITRS looks forward to releasing their highly anticipated new record in 2025, followed by a full European, North American and South American tour.
debdepan debdepan is Chelsea Tolhurst and Grace Bontoft, a female duo from Margate. They were discovered by Pie Factory Music’s Emerging Artists Programme which offered to release a single on its Wantsum Music? label.
The band then signed publishing and label deals with Archangelo Music and shortly afterwards released their first EP ‘OMEN’, in 2023, featuring leading track ‘The Goat’ which entered the Deutsche Alternative Charts and was picked up by BBC Introducing, BBC 6 Music and gained plays on international radio.
In 2024 debdepan made their European debut, at Music Showcase Festivals.
The duo are set to release new music in 2025, supported by gigs in the UK and Europe.

TWIN NOIR – „2 Punks and a Tape Machine“ TWIN NOIR is a Punk/New Wave duo founded 2021 in Berlin, driven by a tape machine, combined with powerful basslines, soundscapes of guitars, synthesizers and dark, danceable electronic club sounds, accompanied by minimalist lyrics in German. TWIN NOIR has achieved significant milestones, including having two of their songs presented by Iggy Pop on his BBC Radio 6 show „Iggy Confidential“. TWIN NOIR were listed by the European music initiative „Europelive“ as one of the „50 most promising European artists“ and have performed live in over 17 countries, including two of Europe‘s largest Wave/Punk festivals: „Wave Gothic Treffen“ in Germany and the „Extramuralhas Festival“ in Portugal. Mark Reeder
Mark Reeder is from Manchester, England. He is a musician, record producer, remixer, DJ, graphic designer and film maker, who has been living and working in Berlin since 1978.
His clandestine musical career has spanned over more than four decades. His early career started in UK with Virgin Records, working in the Manchester Lever Street record shop in the mid ‘70s. At the dawn of punk, he was a founding member of The Frantic Elevators together with Mick Hucknall (Simply Red) Upon moving to Berlin in 1978, he became the German representative for Joy Division and the legendary Manchester record label Factory Records from 1978-1983 and a member of synthpop bands Die Unbekannten and Shark Vegas. Die Unbekannten performed the first illegal and highly secretive gigs in the Communist East (Czechoslovakia & Hungary) for their underground scenes, and they released Dangerous Moonlight, the first record ever to feature a Roland 606 Drum Machine.
During the early 80s Mark Reeder managed the all-girl avant-garde group Malaria! and organised the first secret underground punk concerts in Budapest and Prague for Die Unbekannten and Die Toten Hosen for which he was considered subversiv-dekadent by the STASI (East German Secret Police). He put together and co-presented TV shows for British ITV (The Tube – Berlin Special) and the BBC (Red Herrings)

Neue Soundanlage
Es gab ja schon das ein oder andere Gerücht. Hier also nochmal konkret.
Dank einer Förderung durch die Initiative Musik gemeinsam mit dem Beauftragter der Bundesregierung für Kultur und Medien (BKM) war es uns möglich über den Sommer eine neue Soundanlage zu installieren. Wir sagen mal Rumms dazu. Sicherlich braucht es noch etwas Finetuning aber es ist ein Meilenstein. Bei so einer Förderung müssen wir als Verein einen guten Teil Eigenmittel investieren. Um das alles zu refinanzieren brauchen wir euch als Besucher*innen. Nur so können wir als Ort der Subkultur bestehen.

Mit der „The Future is Female“-Eventreihe (FiF) in Zusammenarbeit mit Black-Web Tourbooking Berlin möchten wir den zahlreichen weiblichen Künstlern und Musikern eine Bühne geben ,die aktuell um Anerkennung, in den von Männern dominierten Musik Business kämpfen.
Wir wollen vor allen die Underground Genres wie : Dark Wave, Post-Punk, Minimal Wave, Industrial, Punk, Death-rock, Experimental, Electronic, Gothik Rock und Metal featuren und eine regelmäßige unkommerzielle Konzertreihe etablieren.

With regullary events we want to give stage to those upcomming talents which are fighting hard for recognition and attention to their art, in the rather male dominated music industry.
We are currently working on a lineup for 2 dates: April 5th and July 26th. We are looking for artists from Berlin or nearby to who want to join the lineup and become part of this event.

In den vergangenen Jahren konnten wir unseren anlagentechnischen Brandschutz ausbauen und haben eine Lüftung eingebaut, neue Tontechnik beschafft und somit einen soliden technischen Stand erreicht.

Informationen zum Verein
Der Verein Slaughterhouse betreibt seit 2000 in Fusion mit dem Urknallteam das Erdgeschoss im Hinterhof der Kulturfabrik. Satzungsziel und Zweck sind die Planung und Durchführung sowie die Entwicklung und Förderung musikalisch innovativer Ausdrucksformen. Dieses Ziel soll einerseits durch die Bereitstellung von Proberäumen für Musiker und Künstler ermöglicht und anderseits durch die Veranstaltungen einer breiten Öffentlichkeit zugänglich gemacht werden.
Ein weiterer Zweck ist die multikulturelle Ausrichtung und die Einbeziehung verschiedener Altersstufen zur Förderung des Austausches unterschiedlicher musikalischer Ausdrucksformen. Daher planen wir nach Abschluss einer möglichen Sanierung des Hauses den Einbau von Proberäumen, sowie eine Wiedereröffnung unseres, seit 1996 geschlossenen, Veranstaltungsbereiches im Keller der Kulturfabrik Moabit.
Szene-Veranstalter aus den Musikrichtungen Indie, Punk, Ska, Hard- und Emocore, Alternative, Rock, (Nu-) Metal, X-over, Wave, Gothic, Pop, Hip Hop, Türkisch Pop & Soul organisieren ein vielseitiges Programm aus Konzerten und Parties. Über fünfzig ehrenamtliche Mitglieder sorgen für einen ganzjährigen Betrieb des Slaughterhouses, das im Schwerpunkt am Freitag und Samstag ab 22.00 / 23.00 Uhr geöffnet ist. Unsere festen Party- und Konzertgruppen sind die „Factory“, „Beat’ em Down“, „Primitive Pop Party“, „Wild Turkey“, „eSKApaden“ und die „Slaughterhouse Concerts“. Eine der erfolgreichsten Veranstaltungen des Slaughterhouse, war einst die Partyreihe „Satisfactory“, die zu dieser Zeit noch im Keller stattfand, dem einen oder anderem vielleicht noch im Gedächtnis geblieben ist und aus deren Crew einige bekannte DJs, Musiker und Veranstalter der Berliner Rock- und Metalszene hervorgingen.
Der Senat für Wissenschaft, Forschung und Kultur unterstützt den Slaughterhouse e.V. seit vielen Jahren mit Fördermitteln für das Anmieten von Anlagen zur Durchführung von Konzerten mit Berliner Nachwuchsbands. Diese und auch einige namenhafte Gäste durften bereits im Laufe der Jahre willkommen geheißen werden. Zu Gast im Slaughterhouse waren z.B. bereits Aziza A., Jingo de Lunch, Mondo Fumatore, Megalomaniax, Embryo, Wolfgang Niedecken, B.Hungry, Harvest, Space Hobos, Dead Freddies, Skalitzer, Spreepatienten, Moabeat, P.R. Kantate, Schelmish, Potentia Animi, Tiefenrausch, Familie Schlegl, Sayowa, Fall Of Serenity, Offmade, Expretus, Blind Man’s View, Loosavanna und viele, viele mehr.“
